Exhibiting at the Call Centre Expo by Will Harvey

In early October eRecruit Solutions attended the Call centre Expo at Olympia in London. This was the third time that we have attended the show but the first time that we have gone with an elite team… Joe Gregory (Senior Consultant) and I were in attendance! We left the office on Monday lunchtime with the car bursting at the seams with all of our kit to get to London to set up. We got there in the late afternoon and then proceeded to set up our stand. Compared to some of the big names that were there (Vodafone, Sage and Jabra) our stand was fairly modest. Here at eRecruit we firmly believe that our product sells itself. We don’t go in for big fancy promotional tools, which is exactly why we can keep our costs down and pass those savings on to our clients.

The next day we arrived in good time to put all the finishing touches together. Previous events have showed us the first day is always busier than the second day. Joe and I were fuelled up on Coffee and Lucozade and were ready to start engaging people in our own indomitable style! We both have different styles but are equally adept at conversing with people from all different levels of management. Joe decided the best way to attract attention was by doing the ‘Gangnam Style’ dance, which proved to be very successful. While, I , the Principle consultant took the more traditional approach and started to engage with potential clients with my winning smile!

The Tuesday was incredibly busy and we both spoke to a decent amount of key decision makers. One thing that I think is particularly beneficial about these types of shows is that you often get to meet people and talk to them face to face, who you would have a terribly difficult job of trying to reach on the phone. This proved to be the case when I did in fact meet a Talent Acquisition Director who I had not been able to reach on the phone for the last 6 months! We had a great 15 minute chat about our flat fee recruitment solutions and I am lining up some business with him in the not too distant future.

All in all, over the two days we made a lot of decent contacts and both got very sore feet! I am sure that with some further contact and some proposals being sent out we should be able to continue our good form of bringing on some new clients. Roll on the next Sales Director show at the end of this month!
